Bergeon Watchmaker Loupes Info Magnification and other specs

Info about the company:

Before the watch, are the tools to produce the components and build them into the time piece. Bergeon is the oldest surviving watchmaking tool company in existence. They have been supplying tools to the industry for over 200 years and are, in their domain, a legend. Every watchmaker in the world will have either bought or inherited Bergeon tools at some moment during their life.

Bergeon SA is today established in La Chaux-de-Fonds with their Head Office at Allée des Défricheurs 4 where they have over 3000 items. The majority of the tools they produce are made in Switzerland by either themselves or an established group of tool and component manufactures.

Watchmaker Loupes:

Loupes are used in many professions where magnification enables precision work to be done with greater efficiency and ease. Examples include surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology, the jewelry trade, gemology, questioned document examination and watchmaking.[3] Loupes are also sometimes used in photography and printing.

Loupes are employed to assist watchmakers in assembling mechanical watches. Many aspects require the use of the loupe, in particular the assembly of the watch mechanism itself, the assembly and details of the watch dial, as well as the formation of the watch strap and installation of precious stones onto the watch face.

Eyglasses

The magnification strength of the eyeglass must be adapted to each individual job. For ordinary work of magnification this avoids eyestrain!

Our eyeglasses are available different strengths; you can thus choose the one that suits you best.

Eyeglasses with a high degree of magnification are to be used for limited periods only.

As these glasses are inexpensive, we would advise you to keep a set giving different degrees of magnification.
